Civil Rights Towards Marijuana Use In Colorado & In Texas

High! I will be discussing my experience about the differences between the laws in Colorado state towards recreational and medicinal cannabis to Texas upcoming laws.

Colorado currently has HB 1090 in the process of eliminating the marijuana possession offense of up to 2 ounces or less. Colorado residents with valid identification 21 older, are allowed to consume cannabis in any type of format which includes smoking, vaping, gummies, capsules, edibles, and flower, these items can only be purchased in legal cannabis retail stores; where the cannabis plant is legal for patients, residents and for incoming travelers, it greatly provides access and cultural benefits.

One of the cannabis businesses I purchased my marijuana is Faragosi Farms, which is also known to be a family-oriented recreational dispensary.

Texas cannabis laws are quite uptight, until 2018 when the Texas Hemp Farm HB1325 was introduced; allows the product and regulation of hemp, consumable hemp products, provides administrative penalties, not allow any person convicted of a felony to participate in state hemp program up till ten years of the anniversary.

The Texas Compassionate Use Act Program (T-CUP) Raises the low THC cannabis 0.5% to 1.0% of THC limit which has been moving without a hearing from the senate as of May 2021. You can have access to CBD, and as of now Texas is currently going through the process of banning Delta-8, this can be harmful to CBD hemp businesses, losing up to forty percent of their revenue and hurt patients that need access to medical hemp.

Since I suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder it has been troublesome to do daily activities. I purchase my hemp items at my local Oasis CBD Shop, the business owner seems to be well educated on the benefits of medical marijuana then provided me with options that can best suit my needs to alleviate the addiction of smoking tobacco, which had been flower, cartages, and hemp cigarettes all that contain up to 10MG of CBD flower.

I tried the 5 MG of CBD sparkling beverage, it had a great taste with a hint of refreshment in the body. I continue to consume the CBD drink; it is too good to pass on, not only that it kept me active throughout the day.

The dosage of it went well however I soon realized that I needed more the dosage to help since 0.5 to me was not enough to help keep me into homeostasis. Including other CBD businesses, they showed citizens and the community the benefits of this cannabis plant, within weeks it had vividly sprouted throughout the Rio Grande valley.

In the middle of April, I had a chance to glance of what the free cannabis plant looks like in Colorado state.

It has been important to check up on the cannabis laws in the county where I was in which was in Trinidad. It is legal to purchase up to one ounce of cannabis in Trinidad. You are not allowed to consume out in public. It came to mind about civil rights; a free will to consume and not worry about having the people report the smell of marijuana nor police arresting me.

The most important part about the trip is the fact that I had the access to heal myself completely using cannabis with having the right dosage that suited best for my health. Texas has yet to fight for its citizen’s health.  In Texas, it is illegal to carry, consume, sell cannabis.

Hemp has been introduced in 2015 when Texas decided to expand on the HB 1535 for medical use for certain medical patients. Currently, in April of 2021, it has been passed by the Senate and will be scheduled to have a hearing for future consideration for government action.
