Rodkey’s hosted its first CBD (Cannabidiol) educational event in its new Loop 1604 location, Wednesday, August 14, 2019. When first walking into the store, it is clear that Rodkey’s sought after finding the balance between beauty and function when designing how it wanted the store to display products. The middle displays are large long cases that allow customers to look into the display and find what products they are curious to try, and the walls are lined with shelves that are lit up for ease selection. The back even has what appears to be a dedicated counter to consult with customers who might have detailed questions regarding products.

The event was held at the front of the store and comfortably fit about 10 individuals that evening. Charles Rodkey provided an abridged history of cannabis from how America’s founding fathers used hemp to addressing a few concerns about the current legal situation in Texas. Additionally, he spoke about his personal experience with CBD and how it has not only impacted his life but his mother who suffered from major health issues over the years.
While the majority of people attending inquired about CBD as an alternative option to traditional pain medication, Rodkey did advise if individuals had concerns about CBD and other medications to consult their doctor. After all, he wants to make sure his customers are safe as they find the product that meets their needs because he understands CBD has immense medical benefits on the human body.
New but Familiar Face
Rodkey’s opened two months ago, but based on the audience, they are becoming a favorite among the community. It is a stop on the Alamo Hemp Tour and is finding ways to interact with the community, such as participating in the July Geekdom CBD Panel and will be a sponsor at the Green Seed cannabis conference in October. Rodkey’s also comes with years of experience in the CBD industry and have a rich background of the breakdown of CBD, the benefits of the cannabis plant, and educating consumers for their guests to find the product that fits their lifestyle.
It also carries its own line of CBD products along with other brands such as Select CBD and Emjayze Hemp.
Future CBD Events
The future of Rodkey’s is bright. Currently, there are new store locations opening up and one will include a coffee shop located inside. While details haven’t been released about the opening of other locations, it is exciting to see where the nature of the CBD movement is heading and how the natural progression of the industry conveniently meets its consumers.
This event is only the beginning as the CBD industry expands. Rodkey’s plans to continue to host events, talks, and educate its consumers about the benefits of CBD. The team behind the brand is absolutely passionate about sharing what cannabis can do for individuals and pets alike.
